How We Make Money

CarSavr is free for every visitor. We don't charge for any tool, calculator, guide, or comparison on the site. So how do we keep the lights on?

Short version

We earn a referral fee from some of the lenders and insurers we link to — paid by those companies when you click their offer or open an account. That revenue funds the writers, calculators, and infrastructure you use for free.

What we get paid for

• Auto insurance: when you compare quotes through a partner and request a real rate, the partner pays us a fee. We're paid regardless of whether you eventually buy a policy.
• Auto loans & refinance: when you complete a pre-qualification or accept a loan offer from a partner lender, the lender pays us a fee.
• Other categories (extended warranties, leasing tools): similar referral-fee structure.

What this does NOT affect

• Editorial rankings. Our "Best of" lists and ranking criteria are determined by our editorial team independently of which partners pay us. A partner cannot pay to be ranked higher.
• Calculator math. Every calculator uses standard finance formulas. Results are not skewed to favor any partner.
• What we tell you. If our partners can't beat your current rate, our comparison flow tells you that directly.

What you pay

Nothing. You pay the partner exactly what they would have charged a walk-in customer. The fee comes out of the partner's marketing budget — not your wallet.

Categories where we may not have a partner yet

Where we don't have a partner for a category (or in your state), we still publish the educational content because it's useful. We'd rather show you honest content with no monetization than skip the topic.

The bottom line

If you save money using CarSavr — even if you don't click an affiliate link — we consider that a win. If you do click and open an account with a partner, you're helping fund the next visitor's free experience.
